Spice Earns Second UK Silver Certification with Go Down Deh — Becomes One of the Most Successful Dancehall Collaborations of the Past Decade

Reigning Queen of the Dancehall Spice has kicked off 2026 in winning form, collecting fresh silverware in the United Kingdom while signalling a bold new personal and musical chapter. Her 2021 global hit Go Down Deh, featuring compatriots Shaggy and Sean Paul, has been officially certified Silver in the UK—marking another international milestone for the genre-defining star and underscoring her continued global pull.

The British Phonographic Industry (BPI) confirmed the certification last Friday, recognising Go Down Deh for surpassing 200,000 units in combined sales and streaming equivalents. It is Spice’s second Silver-certified single in the UK, following the Notnice Recordsproduced So Mi Like It, which attained a similar feat in August 2024. The achievement further cements the crossover impact of Go Down Deh, which appears on Spice’s Grammy-nominated debut album 10, released via VP Records. The track has already enjoyed Platinum status in Canada and Gold certification in France, reinforcing its position as one of the most successful dancehall collaborations of the past decade.

Meanwhile, the certification arrives as Spice embraces what she has dubbed ‘The Month of Grace’—a symbolic reset marked by faith, evolution and fearless reinvention. Just days into the new year, the hitmaker set social media abuzz after unveiling a striking new ginger-toned hairstyle and announcing a gospel-inspired single, God Don’t Play About Me, due for release on 9 January. Describing 2026 as “a little bit different,” Spice framed the moment as “New Me, New Era, New Chapter, New Beginnings,” offering fans a rare glimpse into a more reflective side of an artist known for unapologetic dominance.

The move follows a monumental 2025 that saw 10 re-enter the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart at No. 8, four years after its debut, while amassing over 448 million Spotify streams and multiple international certifications. With Go Down Deh continuing to rack up hundreds of millions of views across platforms and Spice balancing chart success with humanitarian work through the Grace Hamilton Foundation, one thing is clear: her reign is not slowing down. If anything, it is evolving—setting the stage for what could be one of the most defining chapters of her career yet.
