What started as a riddim release is fast becoming one of dancehall’s defining early-year moments. Spice has rocketed to No.1 on the U.S. iTunes Reggae Songs chart with Degree, fuelled by CJtheChemist’s Champagne riddim, while Dexta Daps continues to post sustained international traction and 450 delivers rapid regional dominance across key Caribbean markets. The momentum signals a rare alignment of chart power, global reach and island-to-island impact.
Spice’s ascent was swift. On Saturday, February 7, Degree debuted at No.6 on the U.S. iTunes Reggae Songs chart before surging to the top within hours, instantly amplifying the riddim’s visibility. The project, produced by CJtheChemist alongside Dexta Daps, also features contributions from Nigy Boy, Noah Powa, Juggla and Ajji, positioning Champagne as a compilation with depth and range rather than a one-song moment.
Meanwhile, Dexta Daps is converting consistency into scale. His single Champagne has charted across more than a dozen territories on Apple Music’s Top Songs (Reggae) lists, peaking Top 3 in Mauritania, Top 10 in China and holding steady placements throughout the Caribbean, Africa and parts of Asia. The spread underlines sustained listener engagement well beyond traditional reggae and dancehall strongholds, reinforcing Dexta’s status as one of the genre’s most internationally resonant acts.
On the regional front, 450 is moving fast. Self Worth secured Apple Music chart placements in 13 Caribbean territories within 72 hours of release, including a Top 5 debut in the British Virgin Islands, Top 10 in the Cayman Islands and a Top 30 entry in Jamaica’s competitive market. Together, the results point to a riddim-led movement with real legs. As more heavy hitters are unveiled, Champagne looks set to keep bubbling across charts worldwide.
