Spirit Airlines Launches Belize Service With Festive Airport Welcome

Belize rolled out a warm and vibrant welcome today as Spirit Airlines officially launched its service to the Jewel. The inaugural flight touched down to the rhythmic sounds of the Wabagari Dance Group, whose traditional drumming set the tone for a festive celebration at the Philip Goldson International Airport.  As passengers stepped off the aircraft, they were greeted with signature Belizean hospitality, refreshing welcome drinks courtesy of Traveller’s Liquors and sweet coconut tarts, offering visitors a flavorful first taste of the country.  Minister of Tourism, Youth, Sports and Diaspora Relations, Anthony Mahler, along with Katharine Beamer, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy, were present to mark the milestone moment. Both officials highlighted the significance of the new route in strengthening travel accessibility, boosting economic opportunities, and enhancing people-to-people connections between Belize and the United States.  Spirit Airlines’ arrival signals another important step in expanding airlift to Belize, providing travelers with more options and creating new pathways for tourism, business, and cultural exchange.
