Spirit Airlines to Launch First Fort Lauderdale–Belize Nonstop Flight Friday

Friday November 21 will mark the highly anticipated launch of Spirit Airline’s first nonstop flight out of Belize’s Phillip Goldson International Airport to Fort Lauderdale’s Hollywood International Airport.  Spirit Airlines- recently recognized by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) as a 2025 Four-Star Low-Cost Carrier- will become the only company in the country to provide nonstop flights between Belize and the South Florida City of Fort Lauderdale. The flights, which first sparked discussions earlier this year, are expected to provide convenient and cost-effective travel between the two cities. Travelers wishing to take advantage of the newest addition to the flight listing in Belize can enjoy the introductory one-way rate of $85 for flights originating in Fort Lauderdale and ending in Belize or $185 for flights originating in Belize and ending in Fort Lauderdale. There will be three flights per week.  The idea for the direct flight came after Belizean officials identified Fort Lauderdale as the most popular travel destinations for Belizeans. It is expected that once the flights have proven to be financially feasible that other flight options will be added. With Spirit Airline’s flight launch Fort Lauderdale becomes the twenty-third direct international destination of Belize.
