Manchester Spurs open the defence of their title with 7-points win over St. James Sharps in the Red Stripe Flavours Netball Jamaica Elite League at the National Indoor Sports Centre, on Sunday.
Shantal Slater scored 32 points and captain Gezelle Allison 14 as the spurs triumph 49-42.
Meanwhile, Mishca Creary scored 23 points and Shannoy Washington 16 in the Sharps’ losing effort.
St. Catherine Racers and St. Ann Orchids produced the first drawn match of the season with their game ending 49-49.
Tracy-Ann Forbes scored 32 points for Racers and Sabrina Spence 31 for the Orchids.
