Squash Player Julian Morrison Banned for 2 Years for Doping Violation

National squash player, Julian Morrison, received a two year ban from the Independent Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel, on Wednesday.

Morrison received the ban after traces of bol-denone, a banned anabolic agent, was found in his system during an out of competition test on January 18, 2024.

Through a statement in April, Morrison’s legal representatives, Dr Emir Crowne and Matthew Gayle, argued that the substance entered his system through contamination.

However, the panel says while Morrison did not ingest the substance intentionally, he failed to provide concrete evidence of how it entered his system, thereby warranting a two-year-period of ineligibility.

The ban was imposed after an extensive hearing that included submissions from both JADCO and Morrison’s legal team.

Morrison’s suspension will run from February 21, 2024, the date he was provisionally suspended.
