Dancehall artiste Squash is now facing more than two years behind bars in the United States after admitting to a gun related offense.

The entertainer, born Andrae Maurice Whittaker, was sentenced to 27 months in prison by Judge Roy Altman. He was also ordered to complete three years of probation upon release and pay a fine of 100 US dollars.

In related developments, Squash and his family may now be dealing with a separate challenge after his father was reportedly arrested and detained by agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE.

Reports indicate that Aaron Whittaker had been trying to regularize his immigration status in the United States and was detained in September when he appeared for a scheduled hearing in immigration court.
