Champions St. Jago boys and Edwin Allen girls retained their respective ttiles on the final day of the Central Athletics Championships at G.C Foster College.
38 of the 40 boys finals have been counted and the Monk Street based boys are out front with 316 points, well ahead of second place Edwin Allen 245 and third Clarendon College 128
While on the girls side scored Edwin Allen has 389 points, second place Holmwood 310 and third Hydel 279.
A host of records tumbled on the second day, among them the class one boys 200 mark with Holmwood Tech’s Jaydon Collins logging 21-point 82 seconds for victory.
The class two and three records also went.
Rayvon Black of Denbigh won class two in a new record 22-point 24 seconds while Rajaun Romelly of St. Jago having lowered the record in the heats, came back in the final to post 22.20 for the class three record.
The outstanding Kenyan Ryan Achau running in the colours of St. Jago, set a new championship record in the 5000m boys open with a stunning 15-minutes 15-point 93 seconds.
Ashara Frater of Vere set new standards in the 3000m girls open with 10 minutes 15-point 24 seconds, the top three all ran inside the old mark.
Brianna Stewart of St. Jago and St. Catherine’s Gabrilla Treasure both broke the class three girls High Jump record with 1-point 65 meters, Stewart was awarded the goal.
Raniel Burke of St. Jago ran 54-point 65 to break the class 2 boys 400m hurdles record.
