Defending champions St. Jago and Edwin Allen have taken the lead close to the end of day one of the Central High Schools Athletics Championships at GC Foster College.
After 18 finals scored on the boys side St. Jago were holding a strong lead 131 to 116 over Edwin Allen followed by Clarendon College on 71.
On the girls side Edwin Allen are setting the standards after 18 of 45 finals scored.
The Frankfield based school has 163 points, Holmwood Tech second with 125 and third Hydel High with 105 points.
The class 1 boys 100m title went to Rhaiem Allyson of Clarendon College in 10.70 seconds ahead pf Romario Finnigan of Edwin Allen 10.71
Shemonique Hazle of Hydel captured the girls class 1-100-metres in 11.55 seconds ahead of Jounee Armstrong of Edwin Allen 11.51.

In the boys’ final, Rhaeim Allyson of Clarendon College won in 10-point-70 seonds, ahead of Romario Finnigan of Edwin Allen 10.71.
Paul Henry of Foga Road broke the meet record to win the class 1 boys 400m clocking 47.17 seconds. Omarie Williamson of Holmwood also ran inside the old record after logging 47.24 seconds
There was a new meet record in the girls 400m class, Kelly-Ann Carr of Edwin Allen ran 52.57 seconds to win ahead of Abigail Campbell of Hydel 52.98 seconds.
