Lyndon Cooper, president of the St. Lucia Football Association, was elected president of the Caribbean Football Union, CFU, when the organisation held its 48th Ordinary Congress at Royalton Hotel in Cap Estate, St. Lucia, on Sunday.
Copper, who has served as vice-president of the CFU executive committee since 2012, was elected unopposed.
All positions on the executive committee were up for election and all the candidates were unopposed.
The officers are vice presidents, the JFF’s Michael Ricketts, John Krishnadath from Suriname, Jean Dartron from Guadeloupe and Ivan Rivera from Puerto Rico.
The members are Glen Etienne of Dominica, Anya James from The Bahamas, Girdon Connor from Anguilla, and Mark Wade of Bermuda.
Cooper pledged to find consensus among the 31 members of the CFU and committed to continued collegiality with FIFA and the ‘One Concacaf’ philosophy.
