St. Thomas is on the verge of further development with three major hotel projects set to reshape the parish’s landscape.
It’s one of several upgrades Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness announced at a JLP meeting in the parish over the weekend.
The announcements come on the heels of the newly commissioned Morant Bay Urban Centre in St Thomas in May.
The 20-plus-acre property will see the residents having access to a modern courthouse, a new municipal building, a UCC campus for tertiary education as well as training centres and multiple commercial and civic services in the coming months.
Other infrastructure development includes a fire station in Yallahs, upgrades to health centres as well as the build out of the St Thomas leg of the highway project.
Dr. Holness says 8,000 housing solutions will also be built in St. Thomas.
