Jamaica’s point to point Inflation rate has risen slightly to five percent as at the end of December.

That’s according to the latest bulletin released by the Statistical Institute of Jamaica, STATIN.

It’s up from 4.2% in the previous month.

The slight uptick was mainly influenced by the point-to-point inflation rate for the divisions of ‘Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages, ‘Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels and Restaurants and Accommodation Services.

While slightly up, the rate of inflation remains within the Bank of Jamaica’s target range of four to six percent.
