Nationwide Sports has been reliably informed that three top Jamaican athletes have started the process to switch allegiance to Turkey.

According to our sources Paris Olympics discus champion and record holder, Roje Stona, and Rajindra Campbell who took bronze in the men’s shot put in the French capital last year, are on the verge of making the move.

Two other high profile Jamaicans including a triple jumper, are said to be in negotiation with the Turkish authorities with the view to represent the European country.

Our source is also telling us that a female sprinter is considering the offer.

This week Nationwide Sports reported that Jamaican athletes were being offered US$500,000 to switch allegiance to Turkey in an aggressive recruitment drive to represent the country at the 2028 Olympic games in Los Angeles.

The athletes were also promised monthly stipends and massive bonuses for podium finishes at major championships.

Jaques Harvey famously switched allegiance to Turkey, while Kimarley Brown, Andrew Fisher and Brandon Simpson have worn the colours of Bahrain in the past.
