Chinelle Henry cracked an undefeated century to steer defending champions Jamaica to a 62-run win over Barbados a in their Cricket West Indies T20 Blaze women’s encounter at Arnos Vale in St. Vincent.
Henry slammed an even hundred off 49 balls with six fours and eight sixes as Jamaica piled up 149 for 5 in their 20 overs.
The next best Jamaican scorer was captain Rashada Williams with 25. Shamilia Connell bagged 3 for 14.
The Bajan women were then restricted to 87 for 4 in their 20 overs. Only Naijani Cumberbatch, 35, and Asabi Callender, 30 not out, got among the runs.
Neisha-Ann Waisome led the disciplined Jamaican bowling with 2 for 10.
The Jamaicans will next be in action on Friday against Guyana also at Arnos Vale.
