T20 Blaze: Leeward Islands Beat Trinidad by 36 Runs

The Leeward Islands beat Trinidad and Tobago by 36 runs at Arnos Vale in St. Vincent to move into second spot in the Cricket West Indies T20 Blaze competition.

The Leewards made 133 for 5 in their 20 overs, then restricted Trinidad and Tobago to 97 for 8 in their 20 overs.

With the victory the Leewards gained six points and are now on 27 points.

Jamaica who started the day in second on 23 points, have now dropped to third and must beat Guyana in their game which bowls off at 1:30 Friday afternoon if they are to get into the final.

The Guyanese are on 33 points and are already into Saturday’s final.

The Windward Islands in fifth place on 19 points will face winless Barbados in the last preliminary round game at 6 pm.
