Taxi driver lured into ambush and robbed

A 65-year-old taxi driver was lured into a robbery in Gonzales on Monday night.

Police said the man agreed to pick up a woman and drop her to her workplace at the Independence Square outlet of KFC at 8 pm.

When he reached Davis Street, three bandits approached and stole his cellphone and $110 in cash before running away.

Belmont police were called in and are continuing enquiries.
