Teens Charged in Cattle Theft, Adult Still Wanted

Three minors, all aged 15, have been released on bail following their arraignment on charges of cattle theft, with a 20-year-old adult co-accused still at large.  The three minors appeared before Magistrate Ludlow Black yesterday where they pleaded not guilty to the charge. The court was informed that a fourth individual, a 20-year-old from the Ladyville area, is also implicated in the crime but has not yet been apprehended by police.  The charge stems from an incident on Tuesday, July 22, in Sandhill Village, Belize District, where the group is alleged to have stolen a brown colt from Sherie Moralez.  Given that the accused are minors, no plea was taken, and they were all granted bail with their mothers signing for them, as minors cannot sign for themselves. Each was released on a bail of $1,500 plus one surety of the same amount, which was met.  As a condition of their bail, the three minors must report to the Ladyville Police Station every Friday, starting this week. Their next court appearance is scheduled for October 6.  Police have stated that they know the identity of the adult suspect and are actively searching for him.
