Teflon Young King Urges A Continued Call To Action For Jamaica’s Restoration

3 days ago 2

Reggae lyricist Teflon Young King is urging Jamaicans at home and abroad—as well as the global community—to continue showing up for the island in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, which devastated several parishes following its passage on October 28. While organizations and individuals have stepped forward over the last two weeks with donations and support, the artiste is reminding the world that long-term rebuilding requires sustained action, not just kind thoughts and prayers.

What Jamaica is going through right now is one of the hardest tragedies our people have ever faced. While we appreciate every kind word, thought, and prayer, what will help us most is consistent action. I’m grateful for everyone—celebrity or not—who has already shown up to help. Let’s keep going and organize the work that must be done over the next few months,” Teflon urged.

This call to action mirrors the message in his single “Dreams”, featured on his new album Life Scriptures. The track emphasizes that dreams and intentions can only materialize through effort. A standout line reinforces this theme: “Dreams without action are just dreams.”

It doesn’t matter how small your act of kindness is—it’s still a step in the right direction. This applies not just to Jamaica right now, but to all areas of life. Action transforms dreams into reality. Hope alone is never enough if you want to succeed consistently,” Teflon added.

Teflon Young King emerged in the mid-2000s and became one of Reggae’s rising militant voices by 2010, earning recognition from icons such as Sizzla Kolonji, I-Wayne, and others. After a hiatus to care for his daughter following a family tragedy, he returns with Life Scriptures, a deeply personal and spiritual body of work. Fans worldwide are already embracing the project as a powerful soundtrack of healing, purpose, and empowerment.

Teflon has already contributed to Hurricane Melissa relief efforts and is currently finalizing a larger humanitarian initiative aimed at helping displaced homeowners in the most affected parishes. The full project is expected to launch during his return to Jamaica this December—his first visit in more than five years.

He will also be preparing for the Life Scriptures album launch and charity concert, scheduled for January 7 at Janga’s Sound Bar and Grill, before continuing his album promotional tour in the United States and Canada in February.
