The top three finishers in the men’s 100m at the JAAA National Championship have been confirmed to run on Jamaica’s men’s 4x100m relay team at the London Diamond League next Saturday.

National champion Kishane Thompson, Oblique Seville and Ackeem Blake are part of a six member team that will assemble in the British capital, as Jamaica looks to attain the qualifying standards for the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan.

Seville and Kadrian Goldson are leaving Jamaica early next week to join Blake, Thompson and Rohan Watson who are already in Italy, for a few days of relay practice before flying over to London for the Diamond League.

The men’s 100m is on the Diamond League scheduled but Thompson will be in London only to run the relay.

Jamaica is currently the 18th ranked team in the world by time and must run faster than the 37.87 seconds of the Netherlands who are in 15th or the 38.20 seconds by 16th place Nigeria.

Last Saturday a team of Adrian Kerr, Goldson, Adrian Kerr, Bouwahgie Nkrumie, and Odain Mcpherson failed to achieve the time after winning the event at the Barbados Grand Prix in 38.46 seconds.

Should the team fail to get the time, they will have another opportunity at the Nacac Senior Championship in the Bahamas August 15-17.
