A series of anti-crime operations across Trinidad over the past 24 hours has resulted in the arrest of three persons and the seizure of three firearms, various quantities of ammunition, and narcotics.

The coordinated exercises were conducted in the Southern, Western, and North Eastern Divisions, according to police reports.

In the Southern Division, at around 5:05 am on Friday 1st August, PC Ferguson acted on intelligence that led him to an address on Valley Road, Claxton Bay. There, he observed a silver B15 vehicle with two occupants parked in a driveway.

Upon approaching and identifying himself, PC Ferguson informed the individuals of the intelligence received and his intention to conduct a search under Section 12(a) of the Emergency Powers Regulation 241 of 2025. A silver revolver and four rounds of .38 ammunition were discovered in the vehicle. A 24-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, both of Valley Road, were arrested, and the weapon and ammunition were seized.

Also in the Southern Division, on Sunday 3rd August, officers from the Ste. Madeline Police Station and the K9 Unit conducted a targeted exercise along M1 Taska Road. During a sweep of an abandoned shed, officers found five rounds of 5.56 calibre ammunition, a quantity of cannabis, and a police patch. The items were seized, and investigations are continuing.

In the North Eastern Division, on Saturday 3rd August, officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force (NEDTF) conducted an intelligence-driven operation in the El Socorro area. At Coronation Street, they searched several persons at an auto shop.

While nothing illegal was found on the individuals, a continued search of the area led to the discovery of a black and brown revolver loaded with six rounds of .38 ammunition inside a nearby drain. The firearm was seized, and inquiries are ongoing.

In the Western Division, between 10 am and 4 pm on the same day, officers of the Western Division Task Force (WDTF) carried out an intelligence-led operation. Acting on a tip, they searched an open lot on Marcelle Circular, Big Yard, Carenage, where a black plastic bag containing a revolver was found and seized.

Later that day, WDTF officers conducted a surveillance operation near Onyx Street, Diamond Vale. They apprehended a 30-year-old male suspect linked to several firearm-related offences. The suspect had been observed entering multiple premises near his home before being arrested.
He was taken to the St. James Police Station.

Police say investigations into all incidents are continuing.
