Three Killed in Sarteneja Traffic Accident

A tragic traffic accident in Sarteneja Village, Corozal District, last night claimed the lives of three persons and left several others injured.  According to police reports, the incident occurred shortly after 8:00 p.m. at the corner of Botoncillo Street and Primitiva Aragon Avenue. It was a chain incident as explained by ASP Stacy Smith.

Stacy Smith, Assistant Superintendent of Police: “Sarteneja Police are investigating a fatal road traffic accident which resulted in the death of three persons namely 33 year old Godwin Sealey, 24 year old Ignacio Sealey and 42 year old Israel Chacon. What we have learned so far is that a male person being Ahmadi Gongora was driving a Ford pickup truck and upon reaching the corner of Buntoncia Street and Primativa Aragon Avenue in that village he allegedly lost control of his vehicle and collided into the Meilun tricycle which was transporting Godwin and Ignacio Sealey as well as two other persons. Also injured in the course of this collision was a third person namely Mr.Chacon who was riding a bicycle at the time and the impact similarly resulted in his untimely demise.”

Inside the tricycle at the time of the collision were twenty-four-year-old Ignacio Sealy and thirty-three-year-old Godwin Sealy. Both men were transported to the Corozal Community Hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries. Ignacio Sealy was pronounced dead at 9:36 p.m., while Godwin Sealy was pronounced dead two minutes later.  Also injured was forty-eight-year-old Analeida Arceo, who was travelling as a front-seat passenger. She suffered a forehead abrasion and complained of body pain.
