Saturday’s three Serie A matches have been rescheduled to avoid a clash with Pope Francis’ funeral.

The 88-year-old pontiff passed away on Monday, with the Vatican later confirming he died of a stroke.

The Argentine’s funeral will take place in Vatican City on April 26.

Como versus Genoa and Inter Milan versus Roma will now take place on Sunday, with Lazio versus Parma rescheduled for Monday.

Four top-flight matches were called off on Monday and rearranged for Wednesday following Pope Francis’ death.

The Coppa Italia semi-final second leg between Inter Milan and AC Milan is also scheduled to take place that day, with the second semi-final between Bologna (BOLONIA) and Empoli on Thursday.

Pope Francis was elected to lead the Catholic Church in 2013, replacing Pope Benedict.

He was a known football fan and had supported Argentine club San Lorenzo since he was a child.
