Toledo Man Charged With Murder in Father’s Machete Killing

Twenty-four-year-old Leonardo Tzub was out on bail for a harm charge when he allegedly attacked and killed his father, Eusebio Sabino, in San Jose Village, Toledo. Police have now charged Tzub with murder following the machete attack on Wednesday, October 7.  Sabino was reportedly sitting in his yard that afternoon when he was attacked. He suffered wounds to his head and left hand and was taken to the Punta Gorda Community Hospital, where he later died.  ACP Hilberto Romero says Tzub had been involved in previous violent incidents within his family. Investigators are also considering his mental health, following reports that he had displayed erratic behaviour in the past.

Tzub has since been formally arrested and charged with his father’s murder. He is expected to be arraigned in court in the coming days.
