Tourism Minister Meets Major Cruise Executives in Miami

Minister of Tourism, Youth, Sports and Diaspora Relations Anthony Mahler this week met with senior executives from some of the world’s largest cruise companies during high-level discussions held in Miami, Florida.  The meetings, which included representatives from Royal Caribbean Group, Carnival Cruise Line and the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association, focused on strengthening partnerships and expanding collaboration aimed at supporting the continued growth of Belize’s cruise sector.  Accompanying the minister were Director of Tourism Evan Tillett and Director of Cruise and Capacity Development Lloyd Enriquez. The delegation engaged in dialogue on cruise capacity, destination development and improving the overall visitor experience for passengers visiting Belize.  Officials say the discussions form part of ongoing efforts to position Belize as a competitive and sustainable cruise destination, while ensuring economic benefits for local communities.  The Belize Tourism Board says the engagement reaffirms the country’s commitment to working closely with international cruise partners to expand opportunities and secure long-term success for the tourism industry.
