Tracy Panton Rules Out A John Saldivar Return to UDP Electoral Slate

One of the government’s strongest critics who was not at today’s press conference is John Saldivar.  He is essentially the black sheep of the UDP, but he remains active of social media criticizing Oscar Mira, and the current administration.  Despite that, however, today the UDP Leader Tracy Taegar-Panton made it clear that Saldivar is not being considered as a candidate for the party’s future electoral slate.  The issue arose during the press conference when members of the media questioned whether Saldivar could eventually return to frontline electoral politics under the UDP banner. Panton was unequivocal in her response, stating that Saldivar is neither an option nor a consideration for the UDP’s slate of candidates.

Tracy Panton, Leader of the Opposition: “Today we spent the latter part of almost two hours and our focus must be the corruption. And any citizen in this country has the right to raise concerns about Oscar Mira and the corruption but let me assure you the United Democratic Party has a well established, well prepared caretaker in the like of Mr. Khalid Belisle and Mr. Khalid Belisle will be representing the United Democratic Party in the next election.”
