Tridents Women sneak into play-offs despite loss to Amazon Warriors

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC): Despite suffering a five-wicket defeat at the hands of the Guyana Amazon Warriors Women, defending champions Barbados Tridents Women still managed to qualify for the playoffs of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League. After being sent in to bat at Kensington Oval, the Tridents posted a competitive 158 for seven in 20 overs, led by an even half century from captain Hayley Matthews. However, the visitors completed a fairly comfortable chase to finish on 159 for five in 19 overs to finish second in the four-team table.
