Tobago recorded its sixth murder for 2025 after Trinidadian Ronald Alleyne, alias Butcher, was gunned down in Calder Hall on October 28.

Alleyne, 44, who resided at French Fort, Calder Hall, was liming around 11.15 pm at the corner of Calder Hall Main Road and Friendsfield Road, Scarborough, when several gunshots were heard. Upon checking, a relative saw Alleyne lying on the road, bleeding from wounds about his body. He was taken to the Scarborough General Hospital for medical treatment.

Police said he was pronounced dead on arrival at 11.42 pm. His body was taken to the Scarborough General Hospital Mortuary pending an autopsy.

President of the Calder Hall village council Javon Thompson extended condolences to Alleyne's family noting that he knew the deceased very well. Thompson said the incident has left him hurt.

"It hurts seeing and hearing about a murder; in the news is one thing, but when it’s someone you know, it’s even more painful," he said.

While he has no information on what may have led to the incident, he had a message for the perpetrator/s.

"Not every dispute is to be settled with guns, learn to walk away and show the younger ones around you that guns are something that can change your life in a split second, and always remember, a bullet fired could never be taken back."

He added, "Do not give in to the glitz and glamour of the fast life. Stay on the right path and work hard towards a better future."

Investigations are ongoing.
