Recording artiste Samantha ‘Trinni’ Carter is officially the First Lady of the JHouse Entertainment. The label’s CEO is American artiste, producer, DJ and the conceptualiser of the JHouse (Jamaican House) genre—Freddy Browne.
“It’s amazing. First Lady isn’t just a title, it’s a blueprint. I’m the proof of concept for what JHouse sees in female artistes, so every choice I make sets precedent. It feels like responsibility more than celebration. I’m honoured, but I’m also aware that legacy is built in the quiet decisions: the records I push, the boundaries I set, and every single calculated move I make going forward,” Trinni said.
Trinni explained that she anticipates a space where she can express her creativity autonomously, while bringing flair to this fresh sound.
“With JHouse, I’m looking to scale integrity: merge dancehall culture with this amazing new sound, keep the writing raw, keeping the visuals intentional, but putting my music on a global pipeline. The goal is cultural impact without creative dilution. If we do that, the numbers follow,” she said.
Trinni boasts versatility and discipline in her craft and noted that she can showoff her lyricism and range, with no issues.
“Most artistes pick a lane. I’m interested in collapsing the distance between them. I obsess over arrangement, cadence, silence. The music is architectural before its content,” she said.
Browne added that he was instantly sold on working with Trinni based on her talent and the energetic synergy.
“I’m a zen guy and I move on what I feel. I heard and saw her perform and I immediately thought, ‘OK I’m going to record with her.’ One thing led to another, and here we are making this collab album. It’s the first time I’ve ever done a collab album with a female (artiste)… I’ve worked with other female Jamaican artistes like Patra and Tessanne Chin who I have tracks coming out with. But, this one just felt right. She’s terrific,” he said.

Trinni has so far recorded on four tracks. One will be a collaboration with fellow emerging talent AcYn on his album, while the other three will be on an album that she and Browne are working on, separately.
In the meantime, the Lowe River, southern Trelawny native is encouraging other up and coming artistes to remain focused and to learn the business of entertainment.
“Know what you’re unwilling to trade. Talent gets you noticed; boundaries keep you lasting. Learn the contracts before you learn the stage lights. Write everyday, even when it’s bad because your voice is a muscle. Also, curate your circle properly — the wrong energy costs more than the wrong deals. Validation is addictive and expensive,” she said.
Trinni has several projects in the pipeline that is looks forward to sharing.
“There are a few records coming next quarter. A single and then an album or EP shortly after. It’s sparse, confrontational, and probably the most honest thing I’ve cut. No big feature, no trending sound — just my voice and Freddy Browne’s riddims. Performance-wise, we’re debuting it Live At Big Yard in a few. I also am performing on Buss Song Sundays on May 10th. Di General Pink Panta will be featuring female artistes only for a Mother’s Day special on his international TikTok show” she said.
