Trump Tax Bill Heading to Final Vote in US House of Representatives

Donald Trump’s huge budget bill is heading for a final vote in the US House of Representatives.

The plan, which Trump calls the “big beautiful bill”, has been held up in Congress over concerns about the impact on national debt, and healthcare.

But in the early hours of Thursday, Republican rebels fell into line.

Trump wants the bill signed by July 4, when the US celebrates Independence Day.

The Senate – which like the lower chamber, is controlled by the Republican Party – passed the bill on Tuesday, with Vice-President JD Vance casting the tie-breaking vote.
