The Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) is mourning the loss of Sean Roach, a committed supporter of national athletes and Chief Executive Officer of Langston Roach Industries Limited, who passed away on Monday morning at the age of 46.

In an official statement released on Monday, the TTOC expressed its deepest condolences to Roach’s family, friends, and the wider sporting fraternity, honouring a partner whose involvement with TeamTTO spanned many years. Beyond supporting the committee’s national initiatives, Roach played a direct role in the country’s international sporting success as the manager of Olympic javelin champion Keshorn Walcott.

TTOC president Diane Henderson expressed her sadness at Roach’s passing via a release.

“Sean was a friend of the TTOC and someone who consistently showed his support for our athletes and our initiatives,” said Henderson. “He believed in what sport could do for Trinidad and Tobago, and he was always willing to lend his support. His relationship with Keshorn and the role he played in his career further demonstrated his dedication to our athletes. We are deeply saddened by his passing and will remember him with great appreciation.”

Born on March 6, 1980, Roach was also a prominent figure in the national business community. In addition to guiding the leadership of his family’s manufacturing enterprise as CEO, he served as Chairman of the Board of Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT) from 2020 until his resignation in January 2025 and continued the leadership of the family business as Chief Executive Officer of Langston Roach Industries Limited.

The TTOC noted that Roach’s relationship with the organisation extended far beyond individual events, standing alongside the Committee at various initiatives, helping to strengthen the partnerships that are essential to supporting athletes and the wider sporting community.

His passing marks a profound loss across both Trinidad and Tobago’s corporate sector and its sporting ecosystem. Funeral and memorial arrangements are expected to be announced by the Roach family in the coming days.

Th release added, “The Committee is grateful for the years of friendship and support and for the contribution Sean made to Trinidad and Tobago sport. May he rest in peace, and may his family find strength and comfort during this difficult time.”
