Twenty women from Belize City have successfully completed a specialized training program in cell phone and tablet repair, marking a major milestone in their journey toward economic empowerment. The “Cell Phone Repair Training for Women in Belize” was spearheaded by the Ministry of Investment’s Investment Policy and Compliance Unit (IPCU), in collaboration with the Taiwan Technical Mission and the Ministry of Human Development, Families, and Gender Affairs. This latest cohort joins more than seventy women who have already benefitted from the initiative, which aims to provide marketable, tech-based skills. According to IPCU Director Lincoln Blake, the program reflects a broader commitment to fostering self-reliance and improving livelihoods through targeted capacity building.
We spoke with several attendees who optimistically shared that the experience has motivated them to put into action what they have learned.
The program has already been hosted in the Corozal and Orange Walk Districts.
