Two people have died following an early morning motor vehicle crash on Fort Augusta Drive in Portmore, St Catherine, on Thursday after leaving a popular nightclub.
The crash occurred along the roadway connecting Port Henderson Road to the Portmore Toll Road.
According to the police, five people were travelling in a Toyota Mark X when the vehicle was involved in the collision.
The driver and one passenger sustained critical injuries and were rushed to hospital, where they later succumbed. The have been identified only by their alias as “Trigga” and 17-year-old “CJ” a student of Excelsior High Scool.
The other three occupants were also taken to hospital and are said to be in serious but stable condition.
Earlier reports indicated that emergency personnel had to use specialised equipment to cut all five occupants from the mangled vehicle.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
