Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of 22-year-old Trevorn Walker, who was ambushed and shot dead early Tuesday morning in Moriah.

Senior police officers confirmed the arrests took place around 1.45 pm yesterday during an intelligence-led operation in the Signal Hill area. The men, ages 38 and 42, were placed in custody and have been assisting police with enquiries. Charges are expected soon.

Walker, a salesman, was killed around 2.30 am on Tuesday. Police said he was driving a silver Axio along Highland Road when another vehicle pulled in front of his car, forcing him to stop. He raised an alarm, jumped out of the car, and ran into nearby bushes. Gunshots rang out moments later.

Walker was found dead in the bushes.

Clifton Walker, Trevorn’s father, called for justice as he stood in disbelief.

“That was my only son,” he told Guardian Media at the scene on Tuesday. “Everybody say he was a pleasant fella. Why you had to kill my son?”

Snr Supt Earl Elie had said Trevorn’s murder was not gang or drug-related, but appeared to be a personal dispute that ended violently.

His father believed the murder stemmed from a dispute over a woman.

“He liked ladies, and ladies liked him. But if a woman chooses somebody else, that’s her choice. You can’t take a man life for that,” he said.
