Two Men Charged With Kidnapping, Death Threats in Corozal

Two men have been charged with kidnapping and threat of death following an alleged abduction in the San Andres area of Corozal. Police say twenty-eight-year-old Alex Marcus Lewis, a Belizean labourer, and forty-year-old Brian Ezikel Dena, a Belizean construction worker, were jointly charged yesterday in connection with the October 3 incident.  According to ACP Hilberto Romero, police received information about an alleged abduction and intercepted a red pickup truck with four people inside. Two of the occupants, identified as Ricardo Zetina and Walter Pineda, reportedly told officers they had been forced into the vehicle and questioned about allegedly stolen property.  Romero said the suspects accused the men of purchasing stolen items from people in the area. The suspects also allegedly approached the brother of one of the men and questioned him about the property before police were called.
