THE U14 Reggae Girlz have taken group honours at the 2025 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) U14 Girls’ Challenge Series Tier-I Group B following three consecutive victories against Bermuda, Aruba, and, yesterday, Trinidad and Tobago.
Jamaica opened their campaign with identical 1-0 wins against Bermuda and Aruba before they closed out Group B action with a 3-1 win over hosts Trinidad and Tobago.
The U14 Girlz began their impressive march against Bermuda on Saturday, courtesy of Nycollette Prendergast’s 56th-minute winner.
The Girlz followed up their winning start with a similar victory against Aruba, this time Oraina Campbell scoring the all-important goal.
That win helped the young Reggae Girlz book their spot in the next round.
Yesterday, they sealed their spot as group winners when they faced Trinidad under rainy conditions.
Goals from Alaycia Dunn (12th), Shennel Walters (29th), and Tianna Grant (67th) saw Jamaica claim their third win in a row.
Gloria Henry’s equaliser in the 17th minute proved to be a consolation effort for the twin-island republic.
Dunn opened the scoring for Jamaica with a one-time effort on the top of the box that was just too much for Trinidadian goalkeeper Khathony Benjamin.
Henry finished into an empty net to pull Trinidad level, but Walters restored Jamaica’s lead at the half-hour mark, dancing between a crowd of bodies neatly slotting the ball into the net.
With minutes left on the clock, Grant would send a looping effort from a free-kick into the back of the net.
The result means that Jamaica finishes atop Group B with a maximum nine points, with Bermuda and Aruba finishing second and third, respectively, both tied on three points.
Bermuda, however, hold the advantage with a greater goal difference while Trinidad sit rooted at the foot of the table without a win.
Jamaica will next face off against Puerto Rico in the Challenge Series semi-finals on Friday, and Bermuda will take on the Dominican Republic.
