The young Reggae Boyz marched into the Concacaf Boys’ U15 Championship League B final in dominant fashion as they battered Caribbean rivals Trinidad and Tobago 6-2 yesterday in the semi-finals at the Guillermo Prospero Trinidad Stadium in Aruba.

Goals from Kelvin D. Brown (8th minute, 53rd), Samuel Taylor (9th), Kelvin Brown (35th), Davion Clarke (49th) and Carlondo Morris (70th) saw Jamaica past the twin island republic.

Adasa Richardson (41st) and Antoni Jones (62nd) scored for Trinidad.

It was a clash of high expectations as both teams had entered the semi-finals with three-game win streaks and perfect defensive records.

However, Jamaica were quick off the mark as Kelvin D. Brown opened the scoring in the eighth minute of the play when he converted a penalty following a hand ball in the box by a Trinidadian defender.

Piling on the pressure, the young Boyz doubled their lead just a minute later after dispossessing their opponents.

An unmarked run at the back post allowed Taylor to meet a cross into the box and finish from close range.

Following the early two-goal blitz, Trinidad began to grow into the game as they created their share of chances throughout the first half.

Jamaica broke their momentum just before the break, however, as Kelvin curled a free kick low and outside of the reach of the Trinidadian goalkeeper for his team’s third goal of the match.

Trinidad pulled a goal back early in the second half through a series of defensive errors which allowed Richardson to score.

Davion Clarke restored Jamaica’s three-goal lead as his late run in the box allowed him to turn in an initially deflected shot into the back of the net.

Kelvin D. Brown scored the game’s fifth in fantastic fashion with a volley that had the goalkeeper beaten for pace.

Trinidad would get another goal as Jones rose highest in the box to meet a free-kick delivery into the box.

Morris completed the rout, making it six to Jamaica from the penalty spot in the final minute of the game.

Jamaica advanced to the final where they will face off against Puerto Rico for League B honours.

In the earlier semi-final, Puerto Rico defeated Guatemala 2-0 to book their spot in the final.

The final will be played today at the Guillermo Prospero Trinidad Stadium, with kick-off time set for 3 p.m.

Guatemala and Trinidad will open the day’s activities as they face off in the third-place match at 1 p.m.
