Dean Ackin of Ultimate Events and Matthew Camacho of One Jabb/Ktreadz played key roles to help their respective teams maintain their 100 percent winning records when the Queen’s Park Cricket Club (QPCC) Eight-A-Side Football League continued at the Queen’s Park Oval, Tragarete Road, Port-of-Spain, on Tuesday night.
Competing in the 54-60 Division, Ackin netted the lone goal of the match for the second straight encounter to lead Ultimate Events to a hard fought 1-0 win over Carpenter’s Edge for a fourth straight win, and a maximum of 12 points, four clear of The Brix who dropped points in a 1-1 draw with Development Finance.
Defending champions Security Analysis Services (SAS) stayed in continued to retain its title in the eight-team round-robin series thanks to a strike from Sean Ramdoo to get past BYD 1-0 to move to seven points, one ahead of debutants Maritime Financial Group, 4-2 winners over T Rex led by a double from Anil Seeteram.
Bhajan Ramdass, and Clinton Corbin were also on target for Maritime Financial Group with T Rex getting their replies from Scott Rodriguez, and Andrew Cabral.
In the 46-53 category, Camacho netted a double and Barry Diaz the other for One Jabb/Ktreadz in their 3-0 spanking of BioFreeze for a third straight win and a maximum of nine points, three more than their rivals on the nighth and Overwatch, who got a double from Adam Farfan in their 2-1 defeat of Earth Enerji with Jeffrey Dalton-Brown, the scorer for the latter.
The race for top hours in the 36-45 Division is a close with with title-holders Sheppard Securities and Harts locked on ten points each at the top after four matches, one point ahead of CMA Limited.
This was after Sheppard Securities got a pair of goals from Sean De Silva in their 2-1 triumph over Allegra who had Kendal Latchman on target while
Harts’ eked out a 1-0 win over Domino’s via Benedict Barrett’s effort.
Also in winners row was CMA Limited, 1-0 over Micro Mlling thanks to Stuart Rahael’s lone strike while Carib won by a similar margin against Onboard Freight & Logistics.
In the Under-35 Division, Food Drop got two goals off the boot of Jordan Vieira in their 2-0 blanking of Bliss Carnival to improve to four points, the same as Exhibit One, who drew goalless with Steam, and three points behind leaders T Vibez.
And, in the Over-60 Division, Murphy Clarke blaked Fat Boys 2-0 with Michael Mouttet getting both items to stay top of the table with ten points after four matches, four points clear of Steel Drum who battled past defending champions Khan’s Poultry 1-0 behind Gary Griffith’s decisive item while
TSZ sits third with five points following their 2-0 beating of Jamieson with Stephen Christopher, and Gary Awai the scorers. The tournament continues tomorrow from 6 pm.
