The Jamaica Labour Party, JLP, says it’s keen to unite Labourites in North West Clarendon following Sunday’s internal selection contest in the constituency.
Deputy general secretary, Dr. Andrew Wheatley, told supporters during the vote count that despite how they marked their ballots, they need to support the selected stanard-bearer.

At the end of the process, former senator, Warren Newby, was the victor, comfortably beating his two rivals in all four divisions: Richies, Spauldings, Thompson Town and Frankfield.
Newby tallied 390 votes to finish ahead of attorney-at-law Corey Dunkley, who received 139 votes and educator, Dr. Clovis Nelson, who tallied eight votes.
Newby himself is seized of the need to bring supporters together.
