US stocks sink as inflation gets worse

Worries about worsening inflation are weighing on Wall Street Wednesday and pulling the US stock market further from its record. The S&P 500 dropped 1.1 per cent and was on track for a fifth loss in the six days since setting its all-time high. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 171 points, or 0.3 per cent, as of 1:14 p.m. Eastern time, and the Nasdaq composite was 1.6 per cent lower.
