Vaz Claims PNP Will Scrap Rural Bus System

3 months ago 13

Transport minister, Daryl Vaz, is claiming that the People’s National Party is going to scrap the rural school bus programme if the party is elected to government.

The programme is expected to roll out in September with 110 buses.

The programme is set to serve 2-hundred and 58 rural schools in the first phase.

According to the Transport Minister, the government plans to add two to three hundred more buses within two years to cover the remaining schools.

The Opposition is instead proposing a rural transportation plan that would see 20-thousand students receiving $2,500 a week.

The programme would engage the services of taxi operators.

Minister Vaz claims the PNP’s plan isn’t credible.
