Coach of Vere United, Lenny Hyde, says their current mission is to avoid relegation from the Wray and Nephew/Jamaica Premier League.
Vere sits at 13th in the 14-team league with 19 points from 26 starts. They are three points behind 12th place Chapelton Maroons.
Hyde says they’ll have to maximise their results in the remaining 13 matches in the preliminary round if they are to remain in the country’s top league.
He says his young players are finding it difficult to adjust to the intensity of the premier league.
