Adeeb Vernon scored 15 points and 18 rebounds, while Richmoor Morris and Shawn McLean scored 13 points each in St. George’s Slayers’ 72-50 win over MoBay Warriors in game two of their National Basketball League quarter-finals, at the Stadium Courts on Sunday.
The win helped the Slayers win the best of three series 2-0 and advance to the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, UWI Runnin Rebels took a 1-0 lead in their best of three series after beating Rae Town Raptors 58-49 in game-one of their best of three series.
Jacquaine Freeman led the scoring for the Rebels with 14 points.
On the women’s side, Lady Eagles and Lady Panthers each take 1-0 leads in their best of three semi-final series.
The Eagles lead after beating Lady Warriors 51-46.
Carissa Robinson scored 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles, while Natanya Asphall had 20 points and six rebounds in Warriors losing effort.
Meanwhile, Panthers beat Lady Celtics 57-41 in game one, with De-Eziah Martin top scoring with 14 points.
