Dancehall sensation Versi has kicked off his debut in spectacular fashion, with his first full-length project P.V.O. (Portland’s Very Own) storming onto the U.S. iTunes Reggae Albums Chart at No. 2 on its release day, Friday, August 29. The Portland-born, U.S.-based artist found himself in good company, landing just behind the legendary Bob Marley — a feat that left him both pleased and grateful.

“IMAGINE WAKING UP TO CHECK IF YOUR ALBUM IS OUT TO SEE IT PREMIERING AT NUMBER 2 WITH JUST THE GREAT BOB MARLEY AHEAD OF YOU… GOD A YOU ALONE CAN DO THIS!!!” Versi wrote on Instagram, giving thanks to his supporters and encouraging fans to continue purchasing the project. He added, “BIG UP AND THANKS TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO PRE-ORDERED, YA’LL DEFINITELY CONTRIBUTED TO THIS TREMENDOUS DEBUT #HEARTALOVE❤️.”

The 17-track album is a bold statement of artistry, blending grit, spirituality, and sensuality. With features from Chronic Law, Rygin King, Valiant, and reggae veterans Louie Culture and Ginjah, P.V.O. showcases Versi’s versatility. Standouts include the motivational “Level Up” with Rygin King, the raw and reflective “Nah Change” featuring Chronic Law, and the infectious “Outlandish” alongside Valiant — which dropped its official music video in tandem with the album release, further fueling excitement online.

Backed by production from Cawvinz Entertainment and heavyweights such as CJ The Chemist, Din Din Hempton, Dinesty King, Jay Crazie, and Billboard-charting Kemar ‘Flava’ McGregor, the album delivers a polished yet authentic sound. From heartfelt storytelling to high-energy anthems, the project flows seamlessly, reflecting Versi’s personal journey from Portland to the international stage.

With his chart debut, a star-studded tracklist, and the immediate buzz of a new music video, Versi’s P.V.O. is more than just a first album — it’s the arrival of an artist ready to claim his place among dancehall’s rising elite.
