Vikings return to winning ways as round one concludes in Mickey Mouse League

Round One of the National Mickey Mouse League of Darts concluded excitingly with Match-day Five at the Kosmos Club in Port-of-Spain last Tuesday (September 22), as several teams strengthened their positions heading into the second round of competition.

Just For Fun Vikings returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion, cruising to an 8-2 victory over Flighted Friends. The Vikings established complete control early, racing into a commanding 6-0 lead and securing the match before Flighted Friends finally got on the scoreboard.

Nannette Brooks and Troy Bhujawan picked up consolation points for Flighted Friends before the Vikings finished strongly by claiming the final team game. The victory keeps the Vikings at the top of the A Division standings on 31 points, while Flighted Friends remain in fifth place on 22 points.

E-Z Lines are breathing down the Vikings’ necks in second place, on 30 points, after defeating bottom-of-the-table Game Shot 7-3. De Original Game Shot (DOGS) climbed into third place after making it two wins from two, defeating fourth-place Drifters 7-3.

In the B Division, Scorpions continue to lead the pack on 34 points following a convincing 7-3 victory over fourth-place Triple Vision. The league leaders were clinical from the start, winning the opening seven legs and appearing on course for a complete whitewash. Triple Vision, however, refused to surrender without a fight and salvaged some pride by winning the final three legs to avoid the shutout. Just For Fun Snipers secured an important 7-3 victory over Shanghai Bulls, a result that allows them to hold on to second place, while the Bulls remain in fifth. Westerly Pirates are also joint second after producing one of the biggest wins of the night, dismantling bottom-of-the-table Reckless 9-1.

The C Division continues to be dominated by Bullz I, who once again produced a big performance, this time against seventh-place Bulldogs. Bullz I raced into a 5-0 lead before Bulldogs finally got on the scoreboard through Shiva Kissoon, who secured victory in his singles match. Bullz I quickly regained control and closed out an impressive victory, allowing them to remain comfortably at the top of the C Division standings on 38 points.

Sea Wolves moved back into second place after securing an important 7-3 victory over Shooters. National Youth player Zachery Pierre was the standout performer for Sea Wolves, winning all three of his matches and playing a key role in his team’s victory. Random Squad also climbed to fourth place after recording a convincing 8-2 victory over Top Shot.

With Round One now complete, attention turns to Round Two, which gets underway today (September 29) at the Kosmos Club. The A Division will feature a highly anticipated clash between E-Z Lines and DOGS, with second taking on third in what promises to be an intriguing battle near the top of the standings. The B Division will also see a top-of-the-table showdown, as league leaders Scorpions face second-place Jus For Fun Snipers.

With both teams separated at the top of the standings, the encounter could have major implications for the B Division title race as Round Two begins. The National Mickey Mouse League of Darts, being hosted by the T&T darts Association (TTDA), now enters its second round, with the race for supremacy heating up across all three divisions.
