Vybz Kartel Meeting Daughter Amani for The First Time

1 day ago 2

Dancehall icon Vybz Kartel has shared an emotional milestone with fans after meeting his daughter, Amani, for the very first time nearly two years after his release from prison.

The entertainer revealed the moment on Instagram Thursday, posting a photo of himself standing beside Amani outdoors near a pool surrounded by palm trees. Dressed in a pink striped top, jeans, and black glasses, Amani stood close to her father as the pair posed together for the touching photo.

“Words could never fully express how happy I felt in this moment,” Kartel wrote. “Since the day before yesterday, meeting my daughter Amani for the very first time has filled my heart in ways I can’t even explain.”

Kartel, 50, explained that despite his larger-than-life public persona, the encounter left him unexpectedly emotional and nervous.

“I never thought a woman could make me nervous… but standing beside my daughter for the first time humbled me deeply,” he shared. “Life has a way of reminding you what truly matters, and moments like these make everything feel bigger than yourself.”

The father and daughter had never previously met because Kartel was incarcerated from September 2011 until his conviction was overturned in 2024. Amani is now believed to be about 15 years old. The artiste ended his heartfelt post by referencing faith and timing, using the hashtags #GodIsTheGreatest and #GodandTime.

The emotional reunion comes just days after Kartel shared a video clip featuring Amani’s mother, Amanda, publicly for the first time. Amanda was previously referenced in 2021 by producer Crime Minister, a former affiliate of Head Concussion Records, who disclosed that he and Kartel shared the same baby mother. Although he did not identify her by name at the time, he praised her for raising their daughters after migrating to Canada.

Kartel first introduced Amani publicly in 2016 while still behind bars, posting a photo of her on Instagram to address rumors surrounding his family. “My next princess Amani,” he wrote then, adding that they had “never met.”

The dancehall star is the father of seven children with five different women, five sons and two daughters, a reality he has referenced throughout his music career in songs such as Man Straight and Family.

Three of his sons, Jaheim “Likkle Vybz,” Akheel “Likkle Addi,” and Aiko “World Boss Jr.” Palmer, are shared with his former wife and longtime business partner, Tanesha “Shorty” Johnson. Another son, Shahiem, was referenced in his 2020 track About Us, while his fifth son is named Kahieme. His eldest daughter, Adi’Anna “Girl Boss” Palmer, is shared with businesswoman Sherika Todd.

For many fans, the reunion with Amani marks another deeply personal chapter in Kartel’s life following his highly publicized release and return to public life.
