Dancehall King Vybz Kartel is preparing to deliver another full length project before the end of the year, announcing his upcoming album The Sun, which is set for release on December 18, 2026.
The announcement comes just months after the release of his latest album, God & Time, continuing what has been an very active period for the Jamaican superstar since his return to music following his release from prison.
Kartel revealed the title and December release date through promotional post shared on social media, officially putting “The Sun“ on the radar of Dancehall fans ahead of the holiday season.
A New Album Following ‘God & Time’
The upcoming project follows God & Time, which was released on June 5, 2026, through TJ Records and Vybz Kartel Muzik.
That 14-track project featured a number of high profile collaborations, including Nigerian superstar Wizkid, Puerto Rican singer Farruko, Spice, Shenseea, Skillibeng, and Mavado.
With The Sun, Kartel is now preparing to follow that project with another body of work only months later, adding another chapter to his increasingly prolific post-release catalogue.
Details About ‘The Sun’ Remain Under Wraps
At the time of the announcement, Kartel has not revealed the album’s official tracklist.
The identities of the featured artistes and producers have also not been officially announced, leaving considerable anticipation surrounding what the project will sound like and who could appear on it.
Given Kartel’s recent collaborations with some of Dancehall, Afrobeats and international music’s biggest names, speculation is already expected to grow as the December 18 release date approaches.
The album could potentially bring together another collection of major Jamaican and international collaborations, although no specific guest artistes should be considered confirmed until Kartel or his official team announces them.
‘The Sun’ Is Now Available for Pre-Order
The album The Sun is now available for pre-order ahead of its December 18 release, giving fans the opportunity to secure the upcoming project before it officially arrives.
‘God & Time’ Deluxe Edition Coming Soon
Alongside the announcement of The Sun, Kartel is also preparing a deluxe edition of God & Time, which is expected to be released soon.
One of the biggest talking points surrounding the deluxe project is a collaboration with international R&B superstar Chris Brown.
