Vybz Kartel Warns Fans of Fake East African Tour: “Anyone Falsely Using My Name Will Be Dealt With Accordingly”

Jamaican dancehall superstar Adidja Palmer, better known as Vybz Kartel, has rubbished rumours of an East African tour, urging fans to ignore fake promoters and stay vigilant. The “God Is The Greatest” hitmaker took to social media this week to clarify that no shows in Uganda, Nairobi, or elsewhere in the region have been confirmed by his team or management, TJ Records.

“It has come to my attention that a post is circulating claiming that I will be embarking on an East African tour in May 2026,” Kartel stated. “Let me be absolutely clear: neither my management nor I have any knowledge of, or involvement in, any such tour. No East African shows have been announced or confirmed by my team.”

The statement goes further to warn fans, promoters, and venues against engaging with unauthorised parties. Kartel stressed that the individuals behind these fake events are acting unlawfully, and anyone sending money to these rogue promoters risks falling victim to a scam. Only his verified representatives—including manager Linton T.J. White and attorney Jason Mitchell—are authorised to handle bookings and tour announcements.

While emphasising caution, Kartel hinted that legal action may be taken against the scam organisers, underlining his commitment to protecting both his brand and fans. “Anyone falsely using my name to promote unauthorised events will be dealt with accordingly,” he added.

As dancehall fans in Africa and beyond take note, the message is clear: wait for official announcements through Kartel’s respective channels.
