The West Indies are still searching for their first win at the ICC Under 19 Women’s T-20 World Cup in Malaysia after crashing to an 81 run defeat to Sri Lanka in Kuala Lumpur this morning.
Manudi Nana-Yakara, 41, Sanjana, 39, and Dahami Sanethma, 31, combined to take the Sri Lankans to 166 for 5 in their 20 overs against Selena Ross 2 for 25.
In reply, the West Indies were blown away for 85 runs in 19.4 overs on the back of a top-score from captain Samara Ramnath, 24.
Chamodi Praboda bagged 3 for 16.
The Windies, who lost their opener to India on Sunday, will next be in action on Thursdays when they close out the group stage against host Malaysia, a game they must win if they are to advance to the Super Six stage.
