Wade Mark appointed as acting president

Senate president Wade Mark as he was sworn in on May 23. -

SENATE President Wade Mark is acting head of State for President of the Republic Christine Kangaloo.

A spokesperson at President's House confirmed the appointment via a text message on October 18.

"Yes. He was sworn in and will serve as acting President while Her Excellency is out of the country," the message said, although not saying for how long he would act.
