Trinidad and Tobago’s Keshorn Walcott just missed out on a medal in the men’s javelin event at the World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest, Hungary, on Sunday (September 13).
The two-time Olympic medallist placed fourth with a best effort of 82.41 metres.
Rumesh Pathirage capped a stunning breakthrough season by winning the event. The Sri Lankan took the lead in round three with an 87.11m throw before improving to a winning 91.09m in the final round. Two-time world champion Anderson Peters finished second with 86.18m, while European champion Julian Weber, who led after the first round, took third with 85.89m.
